How to Setup the “Art Shader” in C4D R13

I just got an email by an user asking how to setup the Art Shader to display in the Viewport. It’s fairly simple, just follow these steps:
- Make sure to enable “Enhanced OpenGL” in your Viewports>Options menu
- Create a new Material by double clicking within the Material Manager or go to the menu “Create>Material>New Material”
- Within the new material, deselect everything and only leave the “Luminance” channel selected or select it
- In the Luminance channel select the small triangle next to the “Texture” entry and select from the menu “Sketch>Art”
- In the Art shader itself load in a MatCap Material (if you don’t have one, you can find some here)
- Still in the Art Shader make sure to change the “Space” from World to Camera
Sometimes it can be necessary to increase the Scale value within the Art Shader to get rid off darker or brights areas which are not wanted. So i think i got it all covered. So happy MatCapping :)
